Iverson was born in Hampton, Virginia. His mom, Ann Iverson, was only 15 years old when she had him, and he grew up without a dad. In high school, he was a talented athlete, playing basketball and football as a quarterback for the Bethel Bruins.
However, he got into trouble when there was a fight at a bowling center, and it’s said that he hurt someone during the fight. Because of this, he had to spend four months in prison.
After getting out of prison, he went to Georgetown University in Washington, D.C., where he played basketball for two years. After his second year there, he decided to leave college and join the NBA, the professional basketball league in North America.
