Bautista has a mixed background – his dad is from the Philippines, and his mom has Greek roots. His grandpa used to drive a taxi and worked multiple part-time jobs to support the family. Unfortunately, his childhood was marked by some very upsetting events, including three murders happening right outside his parents’ home.

Dave Bautista started with smaller roles in movies. In 2010, he was in “Wrong Side of Town,” followed by “House of the Rising Sun,” “Scorpion King 3 – Battle for the Throne,” “The Man with the Iron Fists,” and “Riddick.”

Then, in 2014, he became Drax the Destroyer in Marvel’s “Guardians of the Galaxy.” He took on the role of Mr. Hinx in the 2015 James Bond film “Spectre.” In 2017, he played Drax again in “Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2.”

In 2018, he was in “Escape Plan 2: Hades” as Trent DeRosa. He also appeared in the sequel to “Blade Runner,” called “Blade Runner 2049,” playing the role of Sapper Morton. He reprised the same role in a short film “2048: Nowhere to Run,” related to the Blade Runner sequel. He was also in “Hotel Artemis” as Everest.
